As I begin to prepare myself for my next appointment, here is a little explanation of the program:
I started my journey to food freedom in October 2021. In this program there are 2 types of foods, maintenance foods and treatment foods. I have to eat both of them every single day.
Dosing foods are foods that I am allergic to and treating. Currently I am dosing Brazil Nut, Hazelnut and Pistachio. I am considered anaphylactic to all 3. Every night, I eat a small amount of each food. And every week we increase the amount I am eating. The clinic provides gummies for most of these foods, and then eventually I will eat the actual nut.
Maintenance foods are foods that have similar proteins to the foods I am allergic to. For example, lentil flour, is similar to peanut protein. I eat these each morning.
Dosing foods eventually become maintenance foods once you eat a certain amount and can exercise after without having a reaction.
